Bulmer and Lumb’s commitment to the development of youth through its apprentice program was high-lighted with the award of the Textile Colouration Certificate to two of its apprentices.

Edward Naylor and Alana Williamson received the award of the year 2 certificate, both are apprentice technicians within the dyeing division of Bulmer and Lumb.

Both Ed and Alana will now continue to complete year 3 of the course and then progress onto the ASDC qualification.

The award ceremony took place in York at the Merchant Adventurers Hall and was part of the Society of Dyers and Colourists “Day of Celebration”.

Technical Director Paul Hamilton said “We at Bulmer and Lumb are firmly committed to developing the next generation of quality trained technicians for Bulmer and Lumb, we are delighted with the progress of our current apprentices.

We were instrumental in the establishment of the Textile Colouration Certificate through the Society of Dyers and Colourists and have demonstrated our support through our having apprentices at both year 2 and year 1, our apprentice program includes both in-house mentoring with experienced technicians and external qualifications through organisations such as the Society of Dyers and Colourists and the Huddersfield Textile Centre of Excellence and we look forward to benefitting from this in the future
